Monticello Railway Museum

It's official...we are train geeks. Well, Ryan is a train geek and the rest of us support his hobby. We seek out any opportunity we can find to learn about trains. So, Gram & Poppy took us to the Monticello Railway Museum. I have to admit, I was very impressed. There were lots of interactive activities and trains to ride on. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend a visit!

This was a business train and George Pullman display....you could see a sleeping car with several different layouts (bunk up during the day, down for sleeping at night).

Brandon & Gram checking out the scenes!

This conductor was great!....he played the part perfectly. He was the host on the steam engine rides.

Jason & Ryan rode on a gondola car...pulled by a diesel engine.

Ryan says this was his favorite part....the hand car. Hard to believe that the rail crew would ride for miles on this type of hand car, making repairs to the tracks. The guy in blue is a volunteer at the museum.
